The Lonely Hearts Travel Club: Destination Thailand by Katy Colins

This is a light, fun travel book. Perfect for the beach and excellent for those who love to travel or wonder what crazy adventures a girl can get up to out in the world.

Georgia’s life diverts significantly from the perfect life she’d planned, when her engagement falls apart shortly before the wedding. A very practical and planning person, she is surprised to find herself following the signs to a travel adventure, where she leaves the life and land she’s known in search of herself.

This book introduced me to the fabulous word Eleutheromania - “An intense and irresistible desire for freedom.” As a word lover, I liked that each chapter begins with a little known word that gives clues to what is coming in the chapter. (Note: This continues throughout the three-book series.)

Katy Colins writes with humor and compassion, making this travel adventure come alive, and sharing glimpses of Thailand with the reader in an easily relatable, laugh out loud adventure.

“Choose the bigger life, the one that when everything comes to an end you’ll be proud that you were brave and bold enough to live, that way you can’t regret a thing.”
